Software Consulting

Codebase audits, architecture direction and technical due diligence — findings, a roadmap, and hands-on follow-through if you want it.

What problems do we solve?

Every release ships a little slower and nobody can quite say why. The vendor who built your software has disappeared, leaving code but no map. You're about to acquire a company and want to know what its technology is actually worth. Our consulting work starts with questions like these — and ends with an actionable roadmap, not a slide deck.

The goal is never to shame the codebase; it's to establish what works, what carries risk, and in what order to fix it.

What we do

  • Codebase and architecture audit (2-4 weeks) — code quality, security practices, test coverage, deployment process and dependency risks. Deliverables: an executive summary plus an engineer-level findings list, ordered by impact and cost.
  • Technical due diligence (1-3 weeks) — before an investment or acquisition: an independent assessment of technology, team, technical debt and scaling risks. Confidential, and paced to the deal's timeline.
  • Architecture direction and technology choice — rewrite or migrate gradually; which infrastructure, which team shape. We don't sell any particular technology — every recommendation comes with its reasoning in writing.
  • Hands-on follow-through — stop at the report if you like, or implement the roadmap together with your team. A consultant who won't stand behind their findings isn't worth hiring.

How we work

  1. Scoping call — what's the question: speed, risk, or an acquisition? Audit boundaries and confidentiality (NDA) are settled here.
  2. Review — technical analysis with code and infrastructure access; one-on-ones with the team. We don't disrupt your daily work.
  3. Findings and roadmap — a written report plus a walkthrough session. Every finding: its impact, its evidence, its estimated fix effort.
  4. Follow-up — a check-in 30 days later: what got done, what got stuck, did priorities shift?

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to give you access to our code?

Work starts under an NDA; access is read-only, time-limited, and revoked when we're done. The report goes to you alone. If you prefer, the review can run entirely in your environment, on your machines.

What exactly do we get?

Two layers: a 2-3 page summary for management (risks, priorities, estimated costs) and a detailed findings list for engineers — each item with evidence and a fix recommendation. "Your code quality is low" is not a report; with us every claim shows its location and its reasoning.

Will it upset our developers?

We audit with the team, not against it. Our experience: the people who know the problems best are the engineers already inside — an audit gives management-level voice to what they've been saying for months.

How is it priced?

Audits and due diligence are fixed-scope, fixed-price — you get a written quote after the scoping call. The hands-on implementation phase runs on monthly effort.
